First Birthday Layout

Hi All

I hope you liked yesterday's layout. I have another one to share with you today. This one isn't done using the 'Yardsticks' kit but is just a random one I made using up some of my scraps:

I used some gorgeous felt alphabet stickers for my title but also used some MLS mini alphas for a sub title.

I cut the bunting out from a piece of patterned paper and I used paper piecing to make these little balloons - I stamped the balloon image onto the different papers I had over, cut them out and stuck them on to my layout - they are so cute!

I used the same stamping technique on these little presents.

This layout was made for a challenge over at UK Scrappers :

I had to use a sketch which I think was a Pagemaps one,
scrap a First - Sophie's first birthday
Use old or new paper - those papers are quite old
and include some bunting - which is under the photo

Hope you like it and thanks for looking xx

Another Layout using 'Yardsticks'

Hi Again everyone

I'm back again today with another layout I made using the leftovers from the 'Yardsticks' kit:

These are photos of my lovely husband on our wedding day and they went really well with the papers.  I had to add a sheet of kraft Bazzill cardstock as my background sheet but otherwise I haven't used anything other than what was in the kit.

I made use of all the Element stickers that were appropriate to the layout - the word tickets were particularly useful!

Because the background was quite plain, I cut 3 small pieces of leftover paper and dotted them around the edges of the layout and added some of the remaining stickers from the Element Stickers. Here's a close up of one of those:

Even the title was from the Element Stickers and the sub title just above it was done using the Kaisercraft Mini Alphabet stickers that were also in the kit.

I hope you like this one, it's one of my favourites xx

Kirei's layout with the May Wk 5 Kit - Yardsticks

Hi Everyone!

We had some fab papers from the Echo Park ' This and That Charming' range to work with this week, definitely more boy themed! As one of the papers had a reference to feeding ducks I used a few photos of our godson Freddie at the local park when we took him to feed the ducks... have a look at how far the bread got, it didn't quite make the water or the ducks!

I used one of the papers 'Swirl' as my base for the layout. Then I cut a variety of strips from the other papers: 2" x 12", 1 1/2 x 11", 1 1/4" x 10 1/2" and 1" x 8 1/2" and layered these up on the left side. As my layout was about feeding ducks I did also use a strip from the paper 'Signs' as there was the perfect 'Duck Pond' sign for me to utilise!

I mounted 3 x photos (all 6" x 4" but cut down) onto the cream and dark green Bazzill and attached them over the paper strips.

I attached a variety of stickers just below my photos on the right side and above the first two photos on the left. I used some foam pads to raise some of the stickers. To journal I used the cute Mini Alpha Stickers by Kaisercraft that came with the Kit.

In the top right hand corner I layered up some small strips of papers along with some of the fab stickers from the sheet that came with the kit (it is a 12" x 12" and I have loads left over!). Then I finished off with a title using some letter stickers from the previous Echo Park Kit that I had.

You can get this Kit and more from the Online Store here....

Thanks for looking!

Niki's Layout using May 5 Kit 'Yardsticks'

Hi again everyone

What did you think of yesterday's kit? It's hard for me to do male themed layouts as I have a litte girl but I rummaged around and managed to find a picture of me and Ben several years ago on a skiing holiday - perfect!

I focused the top half of my layout on my photo and little title...

and the bottom half on journalling and embellishments.  I was really pleased with how the journalling came out, I picked out a few key words and wrote those in the Kaisercraft Alpha stickers included in the kit whilst writing the rest by hand.

There were so many stickers in the Element Sticker sheet that I clustered a few under the photo...

...and also made actual embellishments out of them.

Finally I finished off by adding those tiny flags (also on the Element Sticker Sheet) in the top left corner of my photo.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking. Stop by tomorrow to see Kirei's layout xx

A Very Special Layout

Hi Again Everyone

I have another layout to share with you today and this one is very special as it's of my little girl when she was only a week old and still super tiny (as she was early)

I've used my leftovers from this week's kit 'Con Brio' to make this layout, however I didn't have much over so I had to improvise and do something minimalistic!

I used the remainder of the die cut shape and cut some of the flowers out of the remaining patterned paper to create the frame and border to the left of the photo :

The circle shape on the background was created just by drawing round one of my dinner plates! I drew around it several times and doodled some tiny dots randomly dotted around the lines. I also added some pearl swirls and single pearls all over the layout.

I finished off by adding a small sub title under the photo

Hope you like this one and thanks for looking!
